Forest Schools
Forest school is a unique and amazing opportunity for children to learn outdoors. It is run by trained school staff who are Forest School leaders. They provide our children with a wide range of learning opportunities, giving them hands on experience of natural resources, real tools and cooking on a fire.
Forest school treats all children as unique, equal and entitled to:
explore & discover
experience appropriate risk and challenge
choose, and to initiate and drive their own learning
experience regular success
develop positive relationships with themselves and other people
develop a strong, positive relationship with their natural world
Our Forest School sessions take place in our garden area which is a partially wooded area so that children can develop their understanding of the natural world. All children in school are entitled to a six week block of weekly sessions which promote and develop their resilience, confidence, independence and creativity.
“I love it when you get to make things using wood and tools”
