New Building Works
Wates, the builders are currently working with the City Council and the school on a project to build a completely new school. The new school will open to children on 6th September 2010.
Progress was held up over the winter because bricks were not able to be laid during freezing temperatures, although things began to improve in the Spring and the builders were able to pull back some of the time that was lost.
It was a very busy but exciting time, and the children enjoyed watching the work going on over the last year and seeing how the new building was progressing. We are very fortunate that the site has been able to be fenced off which has made the whole process a lot safer for the children. We acknowledge that the journey to and from classrooms was made more difficult for some parents but feel that the safety of the children had to be our first priority, and we very much appreciated your support with this.
When the children come back to school in September, Wates will be working on the grounds and playing fields. You will need to use the new main entrance on Sewall Highway to enter the school. The playing fields will be fenced off as the work progresses and will be finished in October.
