Theme for Autumn term (2nd half): The five senses

This term Year 1 have been learning about the five senses.

They have been reading tasty and noisy poems which they really enjoyed.

They have made smelly play-dough.  They made peppermint play-dough and strawberry play-dough.

They have investigated how different things feel and used words like soft, rough, smooth, hard, prickly to describe materials.  They made 'senses hands' to describe how different materials feel.

They have written poems about the senses.

They really liked having the jelly instead of water in their outside area - it was really cold - freezing!
